How Much Does Kakobuy Shipping Cost?

The honest answer is that nobody can tell you the price of your parcel, including us — Kakobuy quotes per box and per route, and any page giving you a flat "Kakobuy shipping price" is describing someone else's shipment. What can be told in advance is which four things set that number, in what order they matter, and how to get your real quote in about a minute.

Your bill has four parts, and only one of them is shipping

Kakobuy is an agent, not a shop. It buys from Taobao, Weidian or 1688 on your behalf, holds the goods in its warehouse, then ships them to you when you say so. That splits the cost into four charges that people routinely add up wrong:

1. The item price. What the Chinese seller charges. Kakobuy does not discount this and no coupon touches it.
2. Domestic Chinese shipping. Seller to warehouse. Usually small, often a few yuan per item, occasionally free — it is charged per seller, which is why ordering ten items from one seller beats one item from ten sellers.
3. The service fee. Kakobuy's own cut for buying, receiving, inspecting and storing. Charged per order.
4. International shipping. The one that hurts, and the only one a Kakobuy shipping coupon acts on. For most hauls it is the largest single line on the invoice.

So when a code promises "20% off", it means 20% off the fourth item only. That is still the best discount on offer — 20% of the biggest number beats 20% of anything else — but it is not 20% off your haul.

Volumetric weight is why your quote surprised you

This is the part that catches almost everyone the first time. Air freight is billed on the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight, and volumetric weight is derived from the box's dimensions rather than what is inside it. The standard formula is length × width × height in centimetres divided by a fixed divisor — commonly 5000 or 6000 depending on the line.

The practical consequence: a parcel of four hoodies can cost more to ship than a parcel of four pairs of jeans that physically weighs more, because the hoodies take up more space. And the single largest saving available to you has nothing to do with coupons — it is asking Kakobuy to remove shoe boxes and original packaging before it packs. On a shoe-heavy haul that can cut the volumetric weight substantially, and it is free.

Consolidation works the same way. Three parcels are billed as three parcels, each carrying its own handling and its own courier minimum. One box is meaningfully cheaper than three, which is the whole reason agents hold your goods in a warehouse in the first place.

How to get your actual number in about a minute

1. Log in and open your warehouse — the list of items Kakobuy is holding for you.
2. Select everything you want in one box and submit it for consolidation.
3. Kakobuy weighs and measures the packed parcel and returns a quote per available line. This is the first real number in the whole process; everything before it is an estimate.
4. Compare the lines. Then apply a coupon — see what each code is actually worth at that figure, because the answer changes with the size of the bill.

You are not committed at the quote stage. If the number is worse than you expected, the fix is to go back and repack — split the parcel, drop an item, or ask for packaging to be removed — rather than to hunt for a bigger coupon.

Customs and VAT are not part of the quote

Whatever Kakobuy quotes you, your government may add to it after the parcel lands. This is charged by the carrier on delivery, is separate from anything Kakobuy controls, and no shipping coupon reduces it:

• European Union. Import VAT is due on commercial parcels from outside the EU at your country's rate, with no lower exemption — the old €22 threshold was abolished in July 2021. Customs duty applies above €150 of goods value.
• United Kingdom. Import VAT applies, and customs duty starts above £135.
• United States. The long-standing $800 de minimis allowance has been narrowed and the rules have moved recently, so check current CBP guidance rather than trusting an older figure published on a coupon page — including this one.

A declared value that does not match what is in the box is the customer's problem, not the agent's, and it is the most common way a cheap haul turns expensive.

Where a coupon actually fits

Once the parcel is packed and the line is chosen, the coupon is the last multiplier applied to a number you have already largely decided.
