Since the summer bundles KAKOSCHOOL and KAKOEU expired (September 5, 2026), the strongest shipping discount comes down to two codes: this one and Ponur, both 20% off. Percentage or flat-rate: the only choice that matters
Kakobuy coupons come in two shapes, and this is the only thing you need to understand before picking one:
- Percentage coupons — they take a percentage off your shipping cost (SAFE2026 20%, Ponur 20%). Only one applies at a time.
- Flat-rate coupons — they take a fixed amount off once you pass a threshold (e.g. ¥300 on shipping above ¥2000). You can hold many of these at once.
SAFE2026 is the highest percentage discount available right now — level with Ponur. Its edge was never the size of the discount but the certainty of the run: SAFE2026 was issued with a fixed end date printed on it, through September 30, 2026, while the monthly codes are extended a month at a time and you find out whether the extension happened by trying. If you are building a haul over several weeks, a code with a published end date is the one you can actually plan against.
What you actually save with SAFE2026
The discount is calculated on the international shipping cost, not on your order value. On typical Kakobuy parcels that works out as:
- Shipping at ¥200 (light parcel, 1–2 pairs of shoes) → you save ¥40.
- Shipping at ¥500 (mid-size haul) → you save ¥100.
- Shipping at ¥1000 (large haul, several kg) → you save ¥200.
Because there is no cap on the discount, the heavier your parcel the better SAFE2026 gets. That is the opposite of flat-rate coupons, which take the same fixed amount off however large the shipment.
What happened to KAKOSCHOOL and KAKOEU
Both expired on September 5, 2026, and their format returned on September 8, 2026 as KAKOSEP — same tiers, same ¥1300 total. None of that changes the maths for SAFE2026: a bundle leads with its total, but flat coupons do not add up with each other and their tiers stop at ¥300, so above a shipping bill of roughly ¥150 the percentage still takes more off. What the September 30, 2026 deadline actually applies to
This trips people up every time a dated code retires, because a Kakobuy haul has two separate moments and the coupon only cares about one of them:
- Redeeming — pasting SAFE2026 into User Center → Coupons → Redeem. This puts the coupon in your account. Do it now, today, even if you have nothing to ship: an unredeemed code is worth nothing after it retires, and holding a coupon costs you nothing.
- Spending — selecting that coupon when you pay for the parcel. This is the moment the discount is granted, and it is the moment the coupon's own expiry is checked.
So a parcel still sitting in the warehouse on September 30, 2026 is the case to avoid: items can wait in storage for weeks, and it is entirely possible to have redeemed the code in good time and still lose the discount because you paid for shipping a day late. If your haul is close to complete near the end of the month, ship what you have rather than waiting on one more seller.
The reverse is also worth knowing. Redeeming a code you may never use has no downside — coupons sit in the account until they expire and nothing is charged — which is why the right move with SAFE2026 and Ponur is to redeem both and let the payment screen decide. Only one percentage coupon can apply, so holding both costs nothing and means you never have to think about which one is still alive this month.
